Intimate Brewery Wedding at Archetype Brewing

While we have established that Asheville is a great location for any destination wedding, it’s especially known for its gorgeous views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and its unique farm to table and craft brewery selections. So, it’s no surprise that couples hosting their destination wedding want to give their guests this unique experience. For those couples who want a fun, city wedding, a brewery is a great choice for a wedding venue! With a wide variety of breweries throughout the city, you and your fiance are guaranteed to find one that’s perfect for your wedding day! A lot of the breweries in town have their own private event space with the ability to host a catering team, entertainment and comfortably seat all your wedding guests! An added perk (you know, besides the delicious, unique beers on tap)? Many breweries are pet friendly and allows your pup to be a part of your special day! Recently, we had the pleasure of working with Beth and Dave to plan their intimate, fall wedding at Archetype Brewing. Check out a few highlights from their big day!

DETAILS

Beth and Dave started the day getting ready at Hotel Indigo, a gorgeous downtown hotel with beautiful views of the city and mountains! Plus, the hotel is dog friendly, so the couple’s sweet pup, Heidi, could join the fun too! Their gorgeous suite featured natural lighting and a lovely balcony for the couple to share their first look. We also love the way Chelsea, their photographer, used the natural light from the balcony window to perfectly capture the details of Beth’s stunning wedding dress! Their wedding invitation perfectly captured the theme of a fall wedding using classic fall colors like navy and burgundy!

FIRST LOOK & COUPLE PORTRAITS

After sharing an intimate moment and their first look at the hotel, Beth and Dave drove to the Blue Ridge Parkway to take some pictures in front of the wonderful, fall mountains. This is a great option for anyone getting married in Downtown Asheville! The parkway is just a few minutes away and there are so many beautiful locations for your photographer to take the perfect wedding day portraits! This is an especially great option in the fall when the mountains are showing off with vibrant autumn colors.

VENUE & DECOR

We love the rustic and romantic appeal of the Archetype. With exposed brick and wooden elements, we used a simplistic, yet elegant, approach when coming up with the floral design for Beth and Dave’s wedding! We created lush floral arrangements centered around the wedding colors of burgundy and navy, with pops of blush and greens and finished the design with a mixture of gold lanterns, glass pillar candles and gold mercury votives.

The ceremony site used two large wooden barrels that were topped with lush floral arrangements. We then placed Beth and Dave’s sweetheart table in between the two barrels to repurpose them for the reception. The long, wooden guest tables were decorated with a simple linen and greenery runner finished with loose flowers and a mixture of lanterns and candles.

Since guest safety is always important to us, we put together a table with custom masks and individual mini hand sanitizers so guests could take what they needed before they entered the ceremony site. This table also doubled as the perfect place to place the vintage window frame seating chart!

FAVORS & DESSERTS

While traditional in nature, many couples today are choosing not to offer wedding favors for their guests unless they are truly unique and useful. While customized koozies and candles or matches are fun, we always encourage our destination couples to choose something that is unique to Asheville or unique to them. Beth and Dave did both! They chose some of their favorite flavors of popcorn from Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn, a local popcorn company in Asheville and their favorite hot sauces from their hometown in New Jersey - Jersey Barnfire! Beth and Dave wanted to find ways to incorporate their sweet pup, Heidi, into the day so they also had some custom doggy treats for guests to take home to their fur babies!

For dessert, Beth and Dave chose an assortment of delicious mini cupcakes and arranged for Sunshine Sammies to serve ice cream sandwiches in the evening! Again, traditionally couples choose a multi tiered wedding cake for dessert, but today most couples are offering unique, local desserts. These individual goodies also offer a safe dessert options for guests during a pandemic.

Congratulations to Beth and Dave! We had a blast being a part of your wonderful, romantic wedding day!
