Ashley and Stephen shared a beautiful July wedding day at the Omni Grove Park this past year! We absolutely loved being a part of this couple’s special day.
We are always excited about all of the details that go into any wedding day - everything from the beautiful detail work in the bride’s wedding dress to the stunning jewelry perfectly paired to go with it. We know couples spend months planning every detail, so we enjoy seeing them captured on camera.
We are suckers for a sweet father daughter look. Ashley’s dad was so excited for his daughter’s big day. There is something so special about seeing couples surrounded by their loved ones as they make a beautiful commitment to each other.
Ashley was surrounded by a great group of ladies on her wedding day! We always enjoy meeting a couple’s family and bridal party - they are so excited for the special couple and offer endless support on the big day.
Check out Stephen’s look on his wedding day! His beautiful blue suit was a huge hit and we are always a fan of the classic bow tie look. So handsome!
Our couples are always looking for some gift ideas for their bridal party. The matching watches Stephen and his groomsmen had on for the big day were a great gift - a classic, stunning piece that they will be able to make use of for years to come.
Once Ashley and Stephen were ready, we set the stage for their first look!
Our bride, Ashley, on her way to surprise Stephen for their first look! We love this moment of anticipation and excitement that our couples feel right before they do a first look. There’s really nothing like it.
One of the best parts of having a wedding at the Omni Grove Park is the multiple photo opp locations throughout the property. Between the beautiful, natural gardens and scenery and the well constructed, classic building, there isn’t a backdrop that you won’t fall in love with on your wedding day. This lovely, natural setting was a perfect fit for Ashley and Stephen to do their first look. It was secluded enough that they could enjoy a private moment and the natural background helped brighten up the couple’s outfits to create some truly beautiful wedding day portraits.
There is just something so romantic about black and white wedding photos! Here are a few from Ashley and Stephen’s bridal portraits. The building structure of the Omni Grove Park works as a perfect background for these shots - wouldn’t you agree?
Remember how we mentioned the great locations available at the Omni Grove Park? Well, we also forgot to mention the amazing view this location offers as well! The first thing that comes to mind when planning an Asheville wedding is a beautiful mountain view backdrop, and the Omni Grove Park does not disappoint.
More hidden gems at the Omni Grove Park - did you know there was a lovely waterfall on site?
This past year we had the honor of working on the floral design for multiple weddings. One of the reasons we love working on floral design is that it is a great creative outlet and lets us experiment with new flowers and greenery. The other reasons we love working on flowers is the uniqueness of each wedding day. Our couples have different tastes, likes and dislikes, and sometimes specifically do or don’t want a certain flower. We enjoy working on personalized weddings and floral designs to help bring a couple’s dream wedding day to life!
That being said, our bride, Ashley, is in love with lilies. So, we were eager to get the opportunity to incorporate beautiful white lilies in her floral design for the big day. They were perfectly complimented with a blend of beautiful assorted white flowers and a mix of loose greenery, like dusty miller. That beautiful blue hue in the dusty miller helped brighten up the whites of the flowers to really make them pop.
We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again: we love personalized wedding touches! When Ashley and Stephen asked us about using our vintage furniture pieces on their big day, we were thrilled. We love the way our pieces are set up here with beautiful string lights in the back to create a colorful, fun lounge that also worked as a great photo opp for the day! Can you tell we are always looking for fun photo locations for our couples?
We had a great time designing Ashley and Stephen’s beautiful outdoor ceremony. As mentioned before, the Omni Grove Park offers a beautiful view of the mountains and true to most Asheville weddings, couples want to keep that as a backdrop during their ceremony. However, there are ways to incorporate personal floral touches to your ceremony site without taking away from the view! One way is to add floral pieces and elements to help “frame” the mountain view backdrop and help center it. We were able to do this with a pair of beautiful, white urns adorned with an assorted mix of white flowers and loose greenery. This allowed us to bring together the floral theme from the whole wedding day to the ceremony site, while also allowing guests and the wedding couple to fully enjoy the beautiful, natural scenery provided by the Blue Ridge Mountains!
A great way to compliment a bride’s bouquet with the bridesmaids dresses is to finish off the bouquet with ribbon that matches the bridesmaids dress colors. This may seem simple, but it really does help tie everything together and offers a beautiful harmony in the bridal party portraits!
A fun tip: if any of your bridesmaids are getting their dresses altered, some tailors offer the left over fabric back and these can be used to make ribbons for your bouquets!
Stephen’s groomsmen looked so handsome in their classy, black suits! Their outfits, and the groom’s, helped make their boutonnieres pop and offered the perfect floral touch to their attire. And, as mentioned before, is there anything better than the classic, black bow tie look?!
Once the “I Dos” were said, guests enjoyed a beautiful cocktail hour while the couple took pictures with family and friends.
One of the most unique, and fun, parts of the wedding day were the beautiful white bird cages that the couple provided us with to use as centerpieces! Ashley and her mother are very close and spent months prior to the wedding visiting various vintage stores to look for unique bird cages to use as centerpieces. The bird cages varied in size and shape and allowed us to be creative with the floral design for the couple’s big day. If there are ever any fun pieces that you would want to incorporate into your wedding day, consider talking to your planner and florist about using them as centerpieces! This allows your guests to see the creative, personalized touches you’ve planned throughout your day and offers a unique touch to your reception decor.
This beautiful welcome table was provided by Ashley’s parents - it is one of their favorite pieces in their home! The table was adorned with previous family wedding portraits. And for an especially special touch, the large birdcage was also adorned with Ashley’s mother’s wedding veil! What a lovely way to incorporate family heirlooms and beautiful past family moments on your special day!
One of our favorite moments of a wedding day is the couple’s first dance. Ashley and Stephen decided to have their first dance as husband and wife right after they were introduced as newlyweds.
Once dinner was served and stories were shared, Ashley and Stephen cut their beautiful wedding cake and the party got started! Everyone had a great time on the dance floor celebrating this sweet couple’s special day. It is such a special moment to see couples surrounded by their family and friends while celebrating together as newlyweds. These moments will be remembered by the couple for a lifetime.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Zebrak!
