We had such a pleasure working with Emma and Harrison to plan their amazing May wedding day. This sweet couple was originally planning a wedding last fall, but along with many other couples had to reschedule to 2021. We worked together to plan the perfect church wedding at St. James in Hendersonville, Emma and Harrison’s home town, followed by an elegant reception at the beautiful Champion Hills Country Club. The spring wedding day consisted of gorgeous details and lush ivory along with blush flowers and sage green and champagne pink accents. There were so many personalized details that went into the day including custom thank you notes and menus made by the bride for each of her guests, the amazing sugar flowers made by the mother of the bride for their wedding cake and gorgeous dried flower petals put together by the mother of the groom for the newlyweds grand exit!
We are so lucky to have been a part of this beautiful wedding day and can’t wait to share the special moments from this day!
Wedding Dress and Details
Emma put a little extra love and special touches into her wedding planning. She designed and created the custom invitation pieces herself and assembled the invitation suites to be mailed out to guests! The delicate handmade paper pieces were put together with a vellum band and a champagne wax seal to create the perfect spring wedding day invitation suite.
Emma and her bridesmaids started the day by getting ready at Emma’s house and enjoying some brunch and mimosas to kick off the wedding day festivities! We always appreciate a cute matching pajama set for the bridesmaids to photograph with the bride on her special day! Once all the details were organized, Emma slipped into her stunning lace wedding gown. It fit her perfectly! The beautiful design work is so unique and the dress was accessorized with an elegant cathedral wedding veil and delicate jewelry. This classic, timeless wedding day look was the perfect fit for the day!
Harrison looked so handsome in his black wedding suit and bow tie. He finished the look with a statement watch and a masculine, elegant boutonniere.
First Look
Like many couples, Emma and Harrison had a lot to consider including whether or not they would have a first look prior to the ceremony. Ultimately, they decided to see each other before the ceremony and share a few moments alone before their guests arrived and the ceremony began. We planned a special moment for the soon to be newlyweds in the St. James courtyard. The unique stone architecture of the church, along with the lush greenery and foliage, created a great backdrop for pictures of this sweet moment as well. The couple spent a few moments together after this and captured some incredible photographs around the property.
Bridal Party
Emma and Harrison surrounded themselves with such a fun and sweet bridal party! Everyone was so happy to be a part of this sweet couple’s day and there were happy smiles all around. It is so important for a wedding couple to choose the right people to stand by them as they say their I Do’s. It was clear that Emma and Harrison chose the best friends and family to share their special day with them. We really enjoyed getting to know this fun group and sharing Emma and Harrison’s special moments with them!
Elegant Ceremony at the St. James Episcopal Church
It was very important for the couple to find the right place to share their wedding vows and host an intimate wedding ceremony with their friends and family members. Harrison and Emma’s families have a special connection to the beautiful, historic St. James in Hendersonville and decided that was the best place for them to get married. This church has unique stained glass windows and shares the story behind each magnificent window in their online resources. It is such a great way to learn more about the history behind the church that has hosted so many special events for so many local families in town.
Romantic, Formal Reception at Champion Hills Country Club
Once Emma and Harrison were married, guests headed over to the incredible Champion Hills Country Club to enjoy an outdoor cocktail hour with amazing food and drinks. The reception space was set with romantic candles throughout the room and lush, ivory blooms and pops of greenery. The reception venue’s architecture is so unique it didn’t take much to turn the space into an elegant affair for a spring wedding day! Emma designed custom menus and thank you vellum mats for each guest to tell them how much it meant to the couple that they were there to share their special day with them.
After the newlyweds arrived, they were officially introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Hunter and went into their romantic first dance. The couple booked Ashley Hess for musical services and she beautifully performed Nora Jones’ “Come Away With Me.” It was such a sweet, romantic moment that the couple will remember for a lifetime. After a sweet welcome and blessing by the couple’s parents, guests enjoyed a delicious plated meal prepared by the venue while the newlyweds shared a moment together to enjoy the beautiful sunset.
Cake Cutting
While all couples choose a special, unique cake for their wedding reception, Emma and Harrison’s wedding cake was even more so. Emma’s mother started learning how to make sugar flowers just weeks before the wedding and created some stunning, life like sugar flowers to display on the wedding cake. We are in awe of her amazing talent and creativity! The sugar flowers were perfectly in theme with the other floral elements from the day and it meant so much to Emma’s mom to be able to share this sweet gift with her daughter and soon to be son in law.
Newlywed Last Private Dance and Newlywed Exit
Emma and Harrison spent their reception following dinner mingling with their friends and family. They decided to spend a moment together and share a private, last dance of the evening while their guests lined up for a special newlywed exit. We are always eager to see the late night outfits our couples have planned and this stunning, white summer dress was a great fit for Emma to end her wedding day! Once they shared this sweet moment, we led the newlyweds outside where their friends and family showered them with love and well wishes to send them off. Harrison’s mother spent months collecting beautiful flower petals to dry for their grand exit! The dried flower petals were beautifully stored in handmade paper cones featuring the couple’s name and wedding date. It was the perfect way to end this perfect day.
Congratulations to the wonderful and lovely Mr. and Mrs. Hunter. We are so thrilled to have been a part of your beautiful, spring wedding day. Cheers to the newlyweds!
